A bright future – get ahead with our bursary scheme designed by Sure specifically for women to diversify the gender balance within the local telecoms and technology services sectors. According to Women In Tech, the website dedicated to women working in the tech space, only 17% of those working in technology in the UK are women.
Lucienne De La Mare, HR director at Sure, said:
“We really value diversity in our business and our goal with this bursary is to support women who want to pursue careers in the technology sector. We hope the bursary can be a stepping-stone for the next generation of women in tech. Sure is committed to making STEM-related career paths more accessible for women and improving the local gender balance. We want to inspire female students to consider the great opportunities available through studying a STEM subject at university. Stereotypes and prejudice are sadly still hurdles that women have to overcome in the technology industry and this bursary is just one of the ways that we have been actively working to break down these barriers and make it clear that everyone has the chance to enjoy a fulfilling career in technology.”
What is the Sure Bursary?

Additionally, the students undertake six weeks’ paid work experience at Sure every year throughout the bursary as well as receiving ongoing support from female mentors in a range of senior positions at Sure.
